As a full-service design/build firm, we have created a system and process that allows you to still carry on with your life in the middle of a significant disruption. Our team is with you every step of the way, from envisioning your dream through project completion.
When you choose to work with Moss-Marlow you will have the full support of a Design Consultant, Interior Designer and Project Manager, as well as that of our office and production staff. We have made the process very user-friendly while providing guidance and consultation along the way as you make decisions about plans, selections, colors, etc.
Every project begins with a dream – a vision of what your ideal home will look like upon completion of the remodeling work. It’s our job to make your dream a reality!
Our Process
1. YOU HAVE A VISION

2. CONTACT US
So, you contact the pros at Moss-Marlow Building Company by filling out a contact form or giving us a call at (828) 328-2333. Our helpful staff will answer any questions you may have and connect you with one of our Design Consultants to schedule your first appointment!
3. INITIAL CONSULTATION
Your Design Consultant will arrive promptly at your home for your scheduled appointment (or will schedule a virtual meeting if preferred). This is a completely FREE consultation to introduce you to our company, answer any questions you may have and take a look at the areas of your home you wish to remodel. We will listen intently while you communicate your goals for the space and we will be able to evaluate realistic budget expectations, timeframes, and solutions. The Design Consultant will then determine an appropriate Design Fee based on the projected scope of design work.
4. DESIGN PHASE
Once you’ve decided it’s time to move forward and take this next exciting step, your dedicated Design Consultant and Interior Designer will take detailed photographs and measurements of your home and begin designing a detailed plan for our project. They will work together with you to create a custom solution for you and the vision you have for your home.
5. DESIGN PRESENTATION & CONSTRUCTION AGREEMENT
During your first Design Presentation, you will preview the custom plans designed to address your identified goals and desires. Floor plans, elevations, and 3-D digital renderings will allow you to visualize your new space, while the detailed specifications will provide an accurate cost of the proposed plan. Your Interior Designer will also have examples to show you of the various materials that have been specified based on your input and tastes. Following careful review of this info we will make any necessary adjustments to the plans and/or specifications per your feedback.
Once the final changes have been approved and you are comfortable moving forward with the plan, we will execute the Construction Agreement. This agreement provides details for the project timeline, payment schedule, approved specifications, drawings and final budget for the project.
6. THE SELECTIONS PHASE
During this next important phase you will work closely with your Interior Designer, who will use their expertise to advise you and give you the confidence needed to make all of the remaining selections required to finalize every detail of your project. We will hold the selections meeting at our office and utilize our selections showroom to view actual product samples.
As you finalize each of your design selections, our internal team will be hard at work ordering your selected products. We’ll also be obtaining all necessary permits and completing any documentation needed for HOA approval or any other miscellaneous approvals needed to start your project.
7. THE CONSTRUCTION PHASE
After all selections have been made, materials have been ordered and required permits and approvals are in hand, we can begin construction and begin working to turn your dream into a reality. Along the way you will have access to your production schedule via our project management software’s client interface and you will be able to monitor progress via daily job log notes and job site photos. And don’t forget – your Moss-Marlow team will be there with you every step of the way to oversee your project through its completion.
8. THE BIG REVEAL
At last you get to see your beautiful new space! However our services don’t stop there – a one-year warranty will give you the peace of mind that we’re still behind you and if something is not right our team won’t stop working for you until it is.
